The numbers change.
New data arrives, and every chart you pasted into last week's report is now wrong.
For macOS 14.4 or later · Early access
Ebla Suite is two native Mac apps that work as one. Shape your data in Ebla Query, turn it into a beautiful report in Ebla Studio, and when the numbers change, the report updates itself. No more copying, pasting, or stale charts.
Native Swift. Works offline. Your data stays on your Mac.
New data arrives, and every chart you pasted into last week's report is now wrong.
You redo the same tables, the same formatting and the same captions, every week or month.
“Is this the final number?” becomes a meeting.
Ebla Suite ends the copy-paste loop.
Open CSV, Excel, JSON, Parquet or SQLite files. Ebla Query previews each column's type and flags bad rows before you import.
Clean, filter and calculate with familiar spreadsheet formulas, pivots and charts. Every cleaning step is saved and replays when the source data is refreshed.
Send the dataset to Ebla Studio. You get a formatted table, a KPI scorecard and charts, ready for your words.
When the data changes in Query, linked tables, scorecards and charts in Studio update. Pin any block to keep a number fixed.
Export a polished PDF, or a Word document that keeps your headings, captions and lists.
The part Excel and Word can't do
Every table, scorecard and chart in Ebla Studio remembers exactly which dataset it came from. Publish a new version in Ebla Query, and Studio brings the linked blocks up to date and keeps your manual formatting. You stay in control.
Ebla Query
If you know a spreadsheet, you already know Ebla Query. It adds the parts spreadsheets never got right: a clean import, a record of every step, and a direct line to your report.
See detected types, encodings and bad rows before you commit. Works with CSV, Excel, JSON, Parquet and SQLite.
SUM, IF, VLOOKUP and the finance set (NPV, IRR, PMT, FV) are among the 60 most-used spreadsheet functions in the formula bar.
Pivot with percent of total and running totals. Chart with histograms, box plots, combo charts and trendlines. Get quick statistics: mean, confidence interval, t-test and correlation.
Cleaning steps such as filter, rename, fill down and flash fill replay when you refresh from the source. Pass, warn and fail quality rules flag data that isn't ready.
Need to share with Excel users? Export a real .xlsx with numeric cells, formulas and a frozen header.
Ebla Studio
A calm writing space that thinks in pages. Type, press / to add a table or chart, and let Studio handle the numbering, references and layout.
Title, Heading 1–3, Normal and Caption, applied in a click and kept when you export.
Tables and figures number themselves, and “see Table 2” always points to the right one.
Import BibTeX or RIS and get APA or IEEE references. Track edits with author and time, and check spelling with the Mac's own checker.
Clean, print-ready PDF. Word (.docx) export keeps your headings, captions and lists. Batch reports create one PDF per record, such as one per client, site or asset.
Find any command instantly with Cmd-K.
Every template opens with sample data, so you see a complete report before you add a single number. Swap in your data and the tables, charts and KPIs follow.
Save your own report as a template, and reuse it next month.
Monday's KPI report, done before your coffee.
Refresh the data and the weekly report is current again: same layout, new numbers.
Thresholds in, status badges out.
Set pass, warn and fail rules, and see Good, Warn and Crit right on the page. Generate one report per asset in a single run. Condition monitoring and vibration reports are one example.
Client-ready, every time.
Premium-looking reports from a template, with a Word file your client can edit and one PDF per client in a batch.
The thesis formatting, handled.
Figures and tables number themselves, references format to APA or IEEE, and your statistics live next to your writing.
Your numbers, your report, no IT department.
Familiar formulas, finance functions and a monthly review that rebuilds itself from this month's data.
From site findings to signed-off report.
Punch lists, status badges and repeatable inspection reports.
Excel and Word are brilliant tools. They just weren't built to work together. Here's an honest look.
| Question | Excel + Word | Ebla Suite |
|---|---|---|
| Getting data into a report | Copy and paste, or embedded objects that are fragile to share | Send to Studio: table, scorecard and charts in one step |
| When the data changes | Find and redo every pasted table and chart | Linked blocks update, and you can pin anything that must not move |
| “Where did this number come from?” | Hard to tell | Each block knows its dataset and revision |
| Repeating a monthly report | Rebuild or maintain macros | Refresh the source, and cleaning steps replay |
| Figure and table numbering | Available, but fiddly with pasted objects | Automatic, with cross-references |
| One report per client or asset | Mail merge, for text only | Batch reports, one PDF per record |
| Sharing with others | Universal | Export PDF, .docx and .xlsx so anyone can open them |
Ebla Suite is written entirely in Swift on Apple's own frameworks. It works offline, feels at home on macOS, and keeps your data on your Mac.
Query is where your data lives: import, clean, calculate, pivot and chart. Studio is where your report lives: write, lay out, cite and export. They are separate apps that work as one. Studio's tables and charts stay linked to Query's data.
[PACKAGING TBD: confirm whether they are sold together or separately.] They work best together, because live sync is the point.
Yes. When you publish new data in Query, linked tables, scorecards and charts in Studio update. You can pin any block to a specific version, or choose to review large changes before they apply.
Yes. Query imports .xlsx and CSV, and exports a real .xlsx with numbers and formulas. Studio exports PDF and a Word .docx that keeps your styles. Importing arbitrary Word documents into Studio isn't supported yet.
No. Both apps work on files on your Mac and work offline.
